Example:spit or drink with a straw<\/li>\n<li>Do not rinse your mouth or brush your teeth for 24 hours after the surgery.<\/li>\n<li>After a 24 hours period following the surgery, it is recommended to use the prescription mouthwash (Chlorexidine) for a period of 15 days. ATTENTION: rinse without gargling for the two (2) days.<\/li>\n<li>The stitches (if you have any) will dissolve in 7 to 10 days.<\/li>\n<li>A progressive soft diet is suggested. Do not eat or drimk too hot or spicy.<\/li>\n<li>Swelling can occur and is normal, it will be at it\u2019s maximum within 48 hours, Apply an ice pack(covered) on the affected area for 15 to 20 minutes per hour during the first two (2) days.<\/li>\n<li>Violent physical activities are to be avoided for a period of 5 to 7 days.<\/li>\n<li>Painkillers will be prescribed. It is recommended to start taking them before the local anaesthetic wears off and to take them regular (as prescribed). Do not wait for the pain to start.<\/li>\n<li>Following a dental surgery, it is possible that the joints and muscles of your jaws become tense and that you could have difficulty opening your mouth. This condition should return to normal in about ten (10) days.<\/li>\n<li>After an extraction, gauze will be applied for 1 hour.
